Spellbound, the debut CD of classic jazz vocalist and songwriter Joel Sheridan features 15 songs (almost an hour of music), including timeless standards, rarely-heard musical gems, and three beautifully crafted originals with music and lyrics by Sheridan. Additional songwriters include Johnny Mercer, Ira Gershwin, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Marilyn & Alan Bergman, Kurt Weill, and Dr. John. Included is a limited
edition 16 page, full-colour companion booklet with photographs, song lyrics, and extensive liner notes written by the artist.
Spellbound embraces a broad spectrum of musical genres, including Jazz, Swing, Bossa Nova, Blues, Broadway, and Classic Pop, in a musically-integrated experience showcasing Sheridan's versatility and his warm, passionate, and inimitable voice. Four of Canada's top jazz musicians are featured; co-producer, musical director, arranger, and pianist Mark Kieswetter, bassist Jordan O'Connor, drummer Maxwell Roach, and guitarist Reg Schwager.
